Rated one Manuel Antonio's top hotels this small luxury boutique style hotel is not your typical hotel. There are no big block buildings, only 12 unique private villas set within the rainforest offering superb panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean. The area is said to have one of the top 5 views of the Pacific ocean in the world. The villas have a king sized bed with doors that open out onto a terrace where a hammock awaits. The hotel has been awarded many prizes which are detailed: 2004 Travel Holidays 'best kept secret' award and winning an International Star for quality in 2003. The service at the hotel is personal as there are only ever 24 people on the property which spans over 30 acres. However the great thing about the hotel is the fact that breakfast is delivered to your room every morning!!

The restaurant is rated one of the top in the area and one of only 5 to have been rated 5 spoons in the restaurant guide to Costa Rica. The pool and the jacuzzi overlook the rainforest below and usually up above you will see monkeys and sloth's. Makanda by the Sea offers luxury in the rainforest!!
