Not your usual pair!

If i told you that a man and a crocodile had become friends, and regularly took a swim and play together in a river in Costa Rica you would probably think i was mad!! But that's exactly the relationship that Gilberto Sheedan, 50 years old, and Poncho, a crocodile thought to be a similar age, share with each other.

Sheedan, who is also known as Chito, rescued Poncho from certain death when he found him in a serious condition after being shot and left to die. Sheedan spent a lot of time with the reptile and put all the effort that he could into getting the croc back on his feet. All of this time spent together created a unique, and very unexpected bond between the two, who now put on shows for visitors to the Caribbean-slope tow of Siquirres. Poncho is now back to full health and looks to be thoroughly enjoying his new lifestyle!

Semana Santa

From Thursday this week, much of Costa Rica will down tools and take a well earned break for Easter. Many will head off to the beaches looking for a break and some relaxing times away from the stresses of everyday work.

Wednesday night is set to be a lively one as people head to the bars and clubs to celebrate the start of their mini breaks and let their hair down, and too right, much of Costa Rica's population work hard all year long and do not enjoy a huge amount of vacation time!
