Arenal Volcano and Hotsprings
The Arenal Volcano is one of the world's
most active volcanoes and by far Central America's and
costa Rica's most active volcanoes. Some people are afraid
that because the volcano is active if they stay there
they may relive Dante's Peak with Pearce Brosnan. However
do not worry as it is very safe and the last time anyone
was hurt was over 100 years ago. The Arenal Volcano is
one of Costa Rica's most popular tourist destinations
and the naturally heated mineral pools are great for relaxing
in.

The Volcano is 1657m high and soars over
the Lake Arenal below. Arenal is thought to have first
erupted 7000 years ago when it was joined will Volcan
Chatto, however Chatto has been extinct for over 3500
years.

One of the great things about the Volcano
is that the water that runs near it is heated and runs
like a river into pools around the volcano. Over the past
30 years the water has been diverted through the well
known Tabacon Hot Springs Resort and forms pools and swimming
pools within the resort. A great tour to do in the area
is the Arenal Volcano
Observation Hike and Tabacon Hot springs. This tour
will take you through the National Park and over the old
lava flow where if you stand still you can feel the earth
shaking as the volcano grumbles. Once you have finished
the walk you will be transported to the Tabacon Hot Springs
where you will rest those tired muscles. After relaxing
you will be dined in the wonderful restaurant.
Arenal is a must see destination for anyone
visiting Costa Rica and we would be more than happy to
help you visit it.
