Costa Rica Luxury Hotels
Costa Rica to me is a developing country
with more than developed hotels. Why is that you can go
to a poor country and find great hotels? If you are planning
or have visited Costa Rica on Holiday then you will know
or are about to know that the hotels in this country are
fabulous. Of course with everything there are some bad
however about 25% of the hotels are luxury and people
are queuing up to pay top dollar for them. Also Costa
Rica Holiday only deals in the top 10% of hotels in
the country, this way we can make sure that what we offer
is the best!! A decent hotel can make the difference between
a good to an excellent once in a lifetime holiday.
For instance I once traveled to Nice, France
booking through Expedia (wrong move there) and booked
into what I thought was a good 4 star hotel. Well when
I got there they were full, but how can Expedia confirm
the reservation if they are full. Anyway they told me
they had a nice hotel around the corner. Well when we
arrived to it I must say that I have seen cleaner rubbish
bins, it looked very seedy and not something that I ever
wanted to have my wife to stay in. The room was terrible,
the walls were peeling and it had a musty smell. The hotel
manager looked like John Malcovich on a bad day!!! Well
to cut a long story short I swore that I would never be
cheap when it came to hotels and you should not be either.
We all have a budget I understand however what is the
cost of a good holiday, that $200 extra could have got
you paradise.
Back to Costa Rica. Some of the great hotels
here in Costa Rica have been here for some time, to mind
comes Punta
Islita, Flor
Blanca, Makanda
by the Sea, Four
Seasons. Hotels in Costa Rica are a different kind
of luxury, in that normally they are boutique and not
large chain hotels. In my opinion this leads to a much
better experience and a more cultural stay in Costa Rica.
There are 2 hotels that are part of the Small Exclusive
Luxury Hotels in the world and they are Punta Islita and
Hotel Gaia in Manuel Antonio. I have visited both and
most say I understand why: the service was exceptional
and friendly. The rooms were well decorated however I
did not feel over done and the views were outstanding
especially at Punta Islita.
Below is my personal top 10 Hotels in Costa
Rica, they are not in order just great hotels:
