Walmart are in Costa Rica!!!
Walmart arguably the biggest retailer
in the world and the most recognised brand within the
supermarket industry has bought a controlling share within
the Central American giant Central American Holding Company
which owns the majority of supermarkets here in Costa
Rica. It currently holds a 51% majority which gives the
company control over 375 supermarkets and other stores
in Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua and Costa
Rica.
Wal mart states that it will make no
major changes however perform numerous studies into the
markets and feasibility studies within each country allowing
it to gain more of a competitive edge. The Central American
countries involved are pleased as this they are sure will
create thousands of well needed jobs throughout the sector.
One of the main concerns however is Wal-Mart's tendency
to slash costs and put smaller businesses out of business.
This is of major concern to the small independent supermarkets
out there.

How do Walt Disney and Costa Rica fit
in the same box??
Walt Disney has selected Costa Rica as
one of its destination for its "Walt Disney Adventure
Tours'. Walt Disney have put together an eight day package
of Costa Rica starting June 18th for anybody looking to
visit the paradise we know as Costa Rica.
Walt Disney is working closely with many
hotels and travel providers in Costa Rica to make sure
that their clients will be well served within Costa Rica.
The reason for the expansion is due their success last
year with Hawaii, therefore Walt Disney saw not better
way than to enlarge their offerings to Costa Rica.
