Protection For Costa Rica Plant and Wildlife

Some of the beautiful scenes Costa Rica has to offer

Costa Rican wildlife and plant life is some of the best in the world and one of the main reasons why people want to visit this country. There are many tours, resorts and packages offering fantastic opportunities to experience the wonders that Costa Rica has to offer. Recently however there has been some concerns amongst groups in Costa Rica that the government isn’t doing enough to help protect what Costa Rica is proud of – its outstanding natural beauty.

APREFLOFAS, an organization dedicated to the protection of wildlife and flora and fauna, have stepped forward and are trying to pressure the government into introducing new laws that will help protect Costa Rica’s

natural beauty. The plan is to petition for 160,000 signatures throughout the country by June 2008 from where the petition will be put forward in front of the government.

Importadora Monge, a departments store chain in Costa Rica, have teamed up with APREFLOFAS, to help promote this cause. They believe that Costa Rica’s wildlife and plant life is some of Costa Rica’s most prized assets and are helping by making the petition available to sign in all 150 of their stores across the nation. Radio Puntarenas, a popular radio station in Costa Rica, are also helping to promote the cause too.

So if you’re a fan of the superb Costa Rican wildlife and plant life, which we are massive fans of here at Costa Rica Holiday UK, and are in Costa Rica within the next 6 months, then get to your local Importadora Monge store and sign the petition to help introduce laws to protect it.
