The Trapp Family Lodge in Monteverde Cloud Forest is somewhat of a unique hotel with a special attention paid to detail. The very friendly staff treats each guest with their personal needs. From the moment you arrive you will be made to feel very welcome. The front desk will help you with every need you have, happily giving out tips on tours to go on and the best places to visit.

There is an undeniable wow-factor when you walk into the rooms here. They are beautiful, large, very clean, with really high ceilings. Everything is very wooden, from the walls to the beds, radiating a very cosy feel. The front of the suit is all glass offering outstanding views of the rainforest but there is a curtain to pull across if you want more privacy. As you are at such a high altitude nights can get slightly chilly but not to worry as the beds come with 3 nice thick layers of comfortable blankets.

The food in the hotel is amazing, to put it lightly; they really understand ‘typical Costa Rican food’ and can provide it with a smile. The portions are plentiful and it is cheap compared to a lot of local restaurants and with a service that is prompt, attentive and warm, you wouldn’t want to go elsewhere.

The lodge is the last one before the cloud forest entry. The entrance is only a 10 minute walk from the hotel so you are there very easily and can be the first in the morning to catch the wildlife awakening. The Cloud forest is not to be missed on your journey to Costa Rica as it is full of lots of hidden wildlife and it promises that you see different wildlife every time you visit.
