Day
1: Fly to the San Jose International airport
(SJO). As soon as you step off the aircraft you
will be met by one of our representatives, where
your itinerary will be explained and any questions
you have will be answered. The representative will
provide you with a pouch that contains vouchers
and information about your trip. From the airport
you will be privately transported to Hotel
Grano de Oro, one of Costa Rica's Five Small
Distinctive hotels. The hotel is situated in a quiet
street of central San Jose just of the main avenue,
Ciudad Colon. Grano de Oro is a victorian style
colonial hotel offering some of Costa Rica's finest
dining. Grano de Oro is a great first night on that
altogether special honeymoon.
Day
2: After breakfast you will take private
transportation with a driver up through the mountain
rainforest until you reach the Arenal Volcano. Once
at the Volcano check into the Arenal
Paraiso at the foot of the Volcano. You will
have your own private superior bungalow with direct
volcano views, on a clear night you will see the
volcano glow.
Day
3: Spend today relaxing and enjoy being
a married a couple. If you like you can organise
adventure, wildlife or exploration tours of the
area. White water rafting and the Cano Negro Reserve
are favourites amongst visitors.
Day 4: Wake up and get ready to
explore all that Arenal has to offer. Take an Arenal
Observation Hike Tour of the volcano with a guide
who will point out animals and plants of interest.
Finish the guided tour reaching a vantage point
over the volcano from where you are able to watch
the lava flow. After you return to the hotel you
may want to soothe your muscles and relax in the
hot springs that the Arenal Paraiso has to offer.
Maybe a romantic dinner at the restaurant at the
hotel could be in order.
Day 5: Arenal has so much to offer
but is also a great place to relax and enjoy the
scenery. Volcano Arenal is one of Central America's
most active and often you can here it rumble and
spurt of lava from the crater.
Day
6: Take a 4x4 and boat transfer across
Lake Arenal to Monteverde, famous for the Monteverde
Cloud Forest. Stay at Hotel Fonda
Vela. The area of Monteverde is most famous
for the Monteverde Cloud Rainforest and the Santa
Elena Reserve that surround the area. Fonda Vela
is situated with the rainforest surrounding it and
offers guests a rustic stay in the jungle.
Day
7: The Monteverde's Cloud Rainforest´s
most famous tour is the Sky Walk through the
canopy. You will walk along suspension bridges
throughout the rainforest and see it in a
different light. The variety of wildlife and
flora is outstanding and the guide will point
out all the plants and animals of interest.
The guide will show you the plants that are
used for medicinal purposes throughout Costa
Rica. If you are lucky enough you will get
to see the famous Quetzal bird that migrates
throughout Central America every year. Finish
the tour with a stop at the museum and the
gift shop and pick up the goodies you might
want.
Day
8: Take a private transfer to the
beach front hotel of Sueno del Mar. This hotel
is rated one of the top B&B's in the county
and only having 6 rooms altogether is a boutique
style personal hotel. All the rooms are decorated
in a Costa Rican style with Bali style furniture
and an open topped Bali shower. If you are
looking for a unique destination on a white
sanded beach you have found it.
Day
9 - 13: Relax on the beach and enjoy
the fabulous Pacific Costa Rican sunsets.
The area is great for long nights and lively
night life. The town of Tamarindo is a mixture
of surf/fishing/tourist town however over
the past couple of years there has been development
towards a more upscale hotel market. The beaches
in the region are some of the cleanest and
finest in the country. There is great surf
and diving in the area and whales and rays
are common visitors.
If
you are looking for some adventure the canopy
tour in the area is thrilling and there is
also the Palo Verde National Park which is
full of wildlife.
Day
14: Time to leave Paradise and start
your journey back home. You will be transported
back to San Jose to spend your last night
in were it all started at Grano
de Oro. Relax on your last night in paradise.
Day 15: Take a private transfer
to San Jose international airport and have
a safe flight home
