Hotel Bougainvillea is located 20 minutes from the International Airport in the mountains surrounding San Jose in a small town called Santo Domingo. The hotel is surrounded by Costa Rican residential areas and is well located for trips into San Jose and Heredia central. The hotel is great for a first or last night stay where people are looking for little expensive, Hotel Bougainvillea is probably the best value for money hotel in the San Jose area. The hotel has wonderful gardens full of tropical plants and flowers, humming birds are frequent visitors to the gardens. The Lost Iguana is one of Arenal's newest hotels and is setting the standard with regards to turning rustic comfortable into rustic luxury. Situated on 100 acres of private reserve and with direct views of the volcano, the hotel offers guests everything they need from an Arenal Hotel.
The hotel has in total 22 rooms and 2 villas with the intention of adding 20 more rooms in 2006. January 17th
Arenal Volcano Observation Hike and Tabacon Hot Springs with Dinner
The tour begins with a 20 minute trip to the far west side of the Arenal Volcano, where you spend about one hour exploring the Silencio Trail. The naturalist guide helps you find animals and indigenous rain forest plants. Afterwards, hike to an observation point that offers the closest, most direct lava flow. Finish off your tour with a buffet dinner and relaxing evening in the Tabacon Hot Springs. Includes: transportation, beverages, snacks, bilingual guide, dinner, and entrance to the Tabacon Hot Springs.
What to bring: comfortable shoes, long pants, bathing suit, towel, sunscreen, insect repellant, camera and binoculars.

Aventura Canopy Tour (approx. 3 hours)
Enjoy a tour that’s 100% adrenaline, and experience the rainforest in a whole new way while traveling from platform to platform through the canopy. The tour has 16 cables, the longest one 650 meters in length. There is also a Tarzan Swing, and a rappelling option. Includes: transportation and bilingual guide.
