The
max cruising speed of these planes is over 300km/h
which means you will never be in the air for long.
They are by far and away the best way to take the
longer internal transfers. A ground transfer from
San Jose to Tamarindo can take up to 6 hours, where
as it will be no longer than 30 minutes by plane,
which really does make a huge difference. Why spend
time in a bus or car when you could be enjoying
a long cocktail by the pool or catching some sun
on the beach.

Baggage allowance
for internal flights is as follows:
Checked baggage has
a free weight limit of 22 lbs/10kg and a maximum
size of 45 inches (length+width+depth). Baggage
over this size may be accommodated, depending upon
available space and weight on the flight. If not
it will be flown out on a later flight or left at
the airport to be picked upon return.
Hand luggage has a
max weight of 5ibs/2.3kg and a maximum size of 20
inches (length+width+depth). Baggage exceeding this
size or weight will not be allowed on as hand luggage
and must be checked in.
In addition to hand
luggage, the following items may also be carried
on into the cabin of the plane:
A lady’s handbag,
purse
An umbrella or walking stick
A reasonable amount of reading material for the
flight
Infant’s food for consumption in flight
An overcoat, wrap or blanket
A small camera and/or a pair of binoculars
A Laptop computer
Sansa offer both scheduled
flights, and also the option for customers to charter
their own private connection, which of course is
much more expensive. Sansa are a part of a chain
of regional airlines, which goes by the name of
TACA. These airlines also offer flights to the rest
of Central America, including Panama, Nicaragua
and Honduras.
