Use the Internet On-Flight to Costa Rica
Posted by Thomas under: Travel and Tourism .
Earlier this week American Airlines, one of the main airlines who fly in out of Costa Rica’s main international airport, Juan Santamaria International, ran a trial on board a flight where guests could have the use of an internet connection.
Previously passengers haven’t been able to use their laptops to hook up to the internet, only being able to use them for personal use – writing documents, watching DVDs or playing games. If the results of the test look beneficial for the airline, which early indications show encouragements, then onboard internet facilities will be introduced and you could soon be flying to Costa Rica whilst surfing the web!
Other companies have clearly caught wind on the idea and will be running their own test flights in the near future. These companies include Virgin America, Alska Airlines and JetBlue who have managed to strike up a partnership with internet powerhouse Yahoo!.
Once the internet has been introduced with airline, the rest will not be far behind, so don’t be surprised to see within 12 months of the first launch that other large airline companies that fly to and from Costa Rica such as Continental Airlines, TACA, Air France and Iberia will follow suite.
