So you are thinking of going to Costa Rica but the problem is you either know little about Costa Rica or the information out there is information overload!!!! Where to go, what to see, when to come???

OK, you want to come Costa Rica but not too sure where to go or what to do and how long to spend there, below find a brief explanation of areas and what they are good for and our advised time to spend in each area: Need a Map!!!

Area Time Description
San Jose 1-2 nights Capital City, not too much to see as little culture, but great for a night out and to meet the people. Great for first and last night in Costa Rica.
Arenal 2-4 nights Volcano area, great for seeing lava flow, bathing in Volcanic heated pools, mountains, jungle, rainforest, wildlife, white water rafting. Is a must!!! Great for adventure and sightseeing.
Monteverde 2-3 nights A rainforest in the clouds, the best Jungle canopy zip line tour in the country!!! Bird watching, rainforests, wildlife, flora and fauna. Good for wildlife and relaxing.
Tortuguero 2-3 nights Caribbean Coast, great for Turtles from July - September.
Manuel Antonio 1-6 nights Tropical paradise where rainforest hits white sanded beaches, great views, wildlife at your feet, dolphins, monkey's, whales, turtles, sloth's. Good for rainforest, wildlife, beaches, relaxing, adventure.
Osa Peninsula 2-3 nights South Pacific near Panama, the last frontier of Costa Rica, isolation, wildlife and nature. Where National Geographic and Discovery channel live!! Great for diving, fishing, wildlife and nature.
Tamarindo and Guanacaste 1-6 nights North Pacific - rainforest and beaches, great for National Parks, wildlife, fishing, surfing and relaxing.
Nicoya Peninsula 1-4 nights the Peninsula that dog legs back in the North Pacific. Great for isolation, relaxation, seeing the real Costa Rica, wildlife.

The time in each area is based on activities to do however if you are coming to Costa Rica for wildlife and nature you may wish to extend your time in certain areas. The typical tour will go San Jose, Arenal, Monteverde, then to the Beaches.

1) Costa Rica is a safe country to travel in, it is the Switzerland of the Central America's
2) There are no direct flights from London, flights go through either the US or Spain.
3) You need no injections to come to the country, however always consult a doctor before coming.
4) Costa Rica is a 2nd World Country however there are first world hotels and services here.
5) The dry season is from November - April and the green season (bit of rain in the PM) May - October.
