Tamarindo Information

Tamarindo is the tropical paradise on Costa Rica’s North Western Pacific coast, sitting in the Guanacaste region of the country. Tamarindo and surrounding areas have some of the most beautiful white sanded, palm tree beaches in Costa Rica. They also provide the best surfing waves and the largest diversity of marine life. Not only is the town of Tamarindo known for its great beach, there is also a nature paradise to discover, home to many species of turtles, birds, monkeys, and reptiles.

Tamarindo is not the only beach to enjoy in the area, with surrounding beaches, Playa Grande, Playa Flamingo and Playa Conchal to the north and Playa Langosta to the south, famous for its protected nesting areas for the giant leatherback turtle. The nesting of these turtles can be seen between October and March and tours are led by official guides which are regularly available to see this amazing event.
