The basis of the system is cables at the top of the rainforest canopy from tree platform to tree platform. You where a harness and on this harness is a runner that you use to slide along the cables. You also wear a big leather glove, this is your brake, sounds weird but works very well. The tours usually has about 4 guides on it allowing you to zip freely from tree to tree. The canopy tour is located 1 mile from the town of Arenal and it takes about 10 minutes to get there on true Costa Rican back roads. The tour usually starts with a 40 minute horseback ride through the rainforest then a short walk to the tour itself. The Canopy tour consists of 10 platforms and 8 zip line cables that will take you like Tarzan through the Costa Rican rainforest.

The cables have different lengths of 112 meters, 78 meters, 100 meters, 60 meters, and 170 meters, and you finish the tour with a rappel ending at the edge of a picturesque river bend.
